Visions for Black Men became the lifeline that helped me go beyond the rhetoric of manhood and dared me to develop a manhood strategy. Over the past decade, I have included Dr. Akbar's model of "males to boys, to men," in several workshops with young Black males and the teachers, parents and other adults that interact and care for them.
