Flowers for Mommy is the delightful story of a little girl named Aliya (A-lee-yah) who decides to pick flowers in her backyard as a surprise for her Mommy. Aliya's search for flowers helps her discover all of the wonderful animals that exist right in her backyard.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
SUSAN ANDERSON is a freelance artist who teaches in a community college in Central  New York. She has also worked with at-risk children in a local youth home for 16 years. Ms. Anderson earned a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from Cornell University and an M.F.A in Illustration from Syracuse University. She is the illustrator of A Lullaby for Daddy (AWP, 1994).
